What Does Dysport Improve?

Dysport is often compared to Botox by patients; both are FDA-approved injectables made from purified botulinum toxin. Once injected, Dysport and Botox temporarily paralyze specific wrinkle-causing muscles and reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles and creases — namely the frown lines around the eyes. However, unlike Botox, Dysport spreads further from the injection site, and is better for treating larger areas. Some studies also show that Dysport acts quicker and the results last longer.

A Dysport Treatment Session

A Dysport treatment is quick, convenient and virtually pain-free. The treatment area will be cleansed in preparation for the injections, and a topical anesthetic may be applied.

An expertly trained Manhattan Beauty provider will use a fine needle to inject small amounts of Dysport into the area of the wrinkle(s). You may feel a slight prick, but it is generally not painful. The product is strategically placed, paying close attention to your natural expressions and facial structures. Less-experienced injectors may over-correct, producing a frozen or surprised expression, but providers are  careful to inject the product precisely and accurately to preserve your unique facial animation.After the injections, you should apply a cold compress to the treated area to reduce any swelling and discomfort. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area, which could cause the product to migrate.

You may notice an almost immediate improvement after treatment, and results will continue to improve for about two to three weeks. Your face will look smoother, more rested and alert. Wrinkles will become less-pronounced.

Your results should last between three to six months. If you love your results, repeat treatment is recommended to maintain the effects.
